Tsunami fundraising events

14th and 16th Jan 2005 - Scarborough

In Scarborough on Friday 14th Jan Mr Jim and the Cask Inn's Toby Jug bar held a live music event with all door takings going to aid the boxing day tsunami victims...raising over £350 plus! not bad for such a small venue. The Maybes (acoustically) and The Collectables (wearing women's clothing) provided the live music, Simon Potts and Kevin Dawson providing the grooves. Visuals C'pn Ants. photo gallery

On the same weekend was an absolutely enormous event organised by singer songwriter and Cellars Bar open mic impresario Tony Turner, called 'Water Wall'.....A 30 plus band line up played all day and night on Sunday 16th Jan at Vivaz to raise another substantial amount of dosh!! some of the bands and performers included were....Cardinal of Riches, Paul Birley, the Variants, Oliver Koppert, the Fingersmiths, the Ollie Banks Band, Phoenix Down, Darren Cooke, Old Boy Network, Tom Davenport, King-Size Dwarfs, Rebecca Roberts, Slinkymalink, Mat Harrop, Braided, Carl Woodford, Pepperland, Rae, Morning Drive, Tony Turner, Fuzzgun Sniper, Jesse Hutchinson, johnny-jump-up, Hamps Tramps, Stony and Lost Blues Club. In between the acts DJ's Paul Toole and Mike Gaffney kept the beats coming whilst Graham Rhodes, Tony Turner and others introduced the constant stream of Live Music. The Stage was split in two by a curtain, as one act finished, another was ready and waiting in the wings....visuals C'pn Ants. photo gallery
